what is Urea formaldehyde

 

It uses melamine formaldehyde resin as the base material, adds advanced cellulose intensifiers, and adds a small amount of special additives, pigments, curing regulators and conversion for modification. The module has no peculiar smell, stable light and good moisture resistance. The surface is hard and smooth and will not attack the material. They are also resistant to surfactants and weak alkalis.

Industrially, it is used as a catalyst, and the molar ratio of formaldehyde/urea at about 95°C is 1.5 to 2.0 to ensure that the resin can be cured. The first step of the reaction is to produce one and two methylolureas, and then further condense methylol and amino groups to replace the soluble resin. If it is catalyzed by acid, it will easily lead to gelation. The product must be stored under neutral conditions. Linear UF resin can be cured at room temperature with ammonium chloride as curing agent.

The molding powder is heated and cured at 130~160°C, and the curing process can be promoted by accelerators such as zinc sulfate, trimethyl phosphate and diethyl oxalate. Urea-formaldehyde resins are mainly used in the manufacture of molded plastics, daily necessities and electrical components. They can also be used as board adhesives, paper and fabric sizing agents, laminates, architectural decorative panels, etc. Because of its light color and easy to use coloring, products are often rich in color.
