Synthetic Urea Formaldehyde Resin Powder Granular Solid Translucent
Industry Base Urea Molding Compound Raw Material
what is Urea formaldehyde
Urea formaldehyde is a translucent thermosetting resin made by heating urea and formaldehyde in an ammonia or pyridine solution. A polymer formed by the reaction of urea with formaldehyde. Also known as urea formaldehyde resin. UF for short. Processing molding occurs when crosslinking, products for the thermosetting resin insoluble not melt. Cured urea-formaldehyde resin is lighter in color than phenolic resin, translucent, weak acid and alkali resistance, good insulation, excellent wear resistance, low price,
Linear urea-formaldehyde oligomer can be obtained by condensation of urea and 37% formaldehyde aqueous solution under the catalysis of acid or alkali. In industry, alkali is used as catalyst, and the molar ratio of formaldehyde/urea is 1.5~2.0 at about 95℃ to ensure the resin can be cured. The first step of the reaction is to produce one and two hydroxymethyl urea, and then further condensation of hydroxymethyl and amino groups to obtain a soluble resin. If catalyzed by acid, it is easy to lead to gel. The product must be stored under neutral conditions. Linear UF resins can be cured at room temperature with ammonium chloride as curing agent.

The molding powder is cured by heating at 130~160℃, and the curing process can be accelerated by accelerators such as zinc sulfate, trimethyl phosphate and diethyl oxalate. Urea-formaldehyde resin is mainly used in the manufacture of molded plastics, household goods and electrical components, and can also be used as board adhesives, paper and fabric sizing, laminating panels, building decorative boards, etc. Because of its light color and easy coloring, products are often rich in color.
