Product Description

UMC Granular Resin Compound Powder For Tableware Making

Product description

UMC granular refers to urea-melamine-formaldehyde resin in granular form. It is commonly used as a raw material in the production of melamine dinnerware and other food-contact products. The UMC granular is mixed with pigments and other additives, then molded and cured under heat and pressure to form the final product. Melamine dinnerware made from UMC granular is known for its durability, resistance to scratches, and ability to withstand high temperatures.

UMC granular and its use in the production of melamine dinnerware:

  • Urea-melamine-formaldehyde (UMF) resin is a type of thermosetting plastic that is widely used in the manufacture of melamine dinnerware, as well as other products like laminates, adhesives, and coatings.

  • UMC granular is a form of UMF resin that comes in small granules or pellets. It is typically white or off-white in color and has a powdery texture.

  • To make melamine dinnerware, UMC granular is first mixed with pigments and other additives to achieve the desired color and finish. The mixture is then molded under high pressure and heat to form the shape of the final product.

  • Once the melamine dinnerware is molded, it is cured at high temperatures to ensure that the UMC granular fully hardens and sets. This process helps to give the dinnerware its characteristic durability and resistance to scratches and chipping.

  • Melamine dinnerware made from UMC granular is popular for a number of reasons. In addition to being durable and scratch-resistant, it is also lightweight, dishwasher-safe, and can withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for use in commercial and industrial settings.

  • However, it is important to note that melamine dinnerware made from UMC granular should not be used in the microwave, as it can release harmful chemicals when heated. It is also not recommended for use with acidic or high-fat foods.

Overall, UMC granular is a key ingredient in the production of melamine dinnerware, and has helped to make this type of tableware a popular choice for both domestic and commercial use.

Our products are widely used in the production of the following products:

dinnerware, tableware, fridge food box, insulation parts, electrical parts, aviation use cups and tableware.
Trays, dishes, flat plate, fruit plate series, bowl, soup bowl, salad bowl, noodle bowl series.

How to produce MELAMINE DINNERWARE with melamine moulding compound(MMC)?

  • 1. Weighting the powder
  • 2. Preheating the powder in oven to make into block
  • 3. Puting the block on the molds, Pressing it under high temperature ( About 155-165 C ) and high pressure.
  • 4. Molding: The UMC mixture is then molded into the desired shape using a compression molding or injection molding machine. The molding process involves applying heat and pressure to the UMC mixture to form it into the desired shape.

  • 5. Curing: Once the melamine dinnerware has been molded, it is cured or hardened by exposing it to high temperatures, typically in an oven or autoclave. The curing process helps to ensure that the UMC resin fully hardens and sets, giving the dinnerware its characteristic durability and resistance to scratching and chipping.

  • 6. Finishing: After curing, the dinnerware is often subjected to additional finishing steps, such as sanding, polishing, or coating, to improve its appearance and performance. This may include applying a glaze or other protective coating to the surface of the dinnerware.
